Space Scavenger Hunt

This scavenger hunt is to be used to introduce a unit about Space. Within each site there is information that you will need to find and write about. This scavenger hunt is meant to spark interest in the topic of space for students research paper. This scavenger hunt assists students in doing their report that meets AZ state standard for Language Arts for the 5th grade. This standard is: W-F5 Locate, acknowledge and use several source to write an informational report in their own words. When students sit down at the computer to begin the lesson they will click on the icon for space scavenger hunt on the desktop. Students will have a fact sheet to fill in when they visit each site. Teachers should print out fact sheet for students.
BEGIN SCAVENGER HUNT
Travel to NASA's
special website for kids. Learn about different objects in the solar
system. Write down 4 facts about different objects in space from NASA's
website. Write on fact sheet.
Head on over to WebStars
website and learn about our solar system. Learn about Rover Road Trip.

Remain at Mars and visit Mars
Exploration. Have fun playing the games here.
Take a tour around the Smithsonian National
Air and Space Museum. Collect 5 facts about lunar exploration vehicles
from the Lunar exploration
Vehicle exhibit.
Enter the CosmicQuest
and design a space station. Click on space station and begin to
select items that you will need to survive in space. Write down the
correct responses for the items needed to survive in space.
