Vacation Travel Project

Directions: You will design your own special vacation and go where you want, do what you want, and see what you want. The only requirement is that you follow the few rules listed below.

Rules:

· Your family consists of two adults and two children

· Your travels must be within the United States.

· You will spend 5-7 days vacationing

· Your must use motels/hotels on those 5 nights (no staying with relatives!)

· You must eat 3 meals per day at restaurants or picnics.

· You must visit at least 3 attractions per day. (amusement parks, historic sites, museums, etc.)

· You may stay two days in a city with a population of 200,000. You are limited to one night any other city.

· Your total budget is $2,000.00 for the week

1^st Step - Word Document:

Paragraphs or bullet points typed in Microsoft word document including:

· Type up each day including:

1. Describing places/attractions visited

2. Places you ate and cost.

3. Total cost for each day.

2^nd Step - Spreadsheet:

1. Complete spreadsheet worksheet using spreadsheet tutorial in weblinks

2. Create a spreadsheet including expenses of your vacation- follow the template printed on the table. Use formulas.

3^rd Step - Mapquest:

1. Go to www.mapquest.com

2. Click on Get Directions

3. Type in city and state in starting box

4. Type in city and state in ending box

5. Click Get Directions button (sometimes you need to pick your destination from a list)

6. Click on printer friendly link to print map and directions

4^th Step – Vacation Brochure: directions are on table
